Recreational soccer at OBSC

Recreational is our largest program and it is open to every ability. There is no tryout and nobody is cut — players learn the game with adult volunteer coaches at the Ormond Beach Sports Complex.

Our mission

To provide every child with a safe and fun environment in which to learn the fundamentals of soccer while fostering a lifelong love of the game. Through age-appropriate, skill-based instruction the Recreational Program promotes teamwork, personal growth, and a passion for the game.

Fall 2026

Fall runs from late August to late October.

  • Practices begin — week of 24 August
  • First games — 5 September
  • Final regular-season games — 23 October, weather permitting

What to expect

  • Every ability is welcome. No tryout, no cuts, whether it is a first season or a tenth.
  • Adult volunteer coaches. They guide each player’s development while keeping the game enjoyable.
  • Teams are built from registration numbers. Coed or gender-based is decided per age group once numbers are in, to give the best possible playing experience.
  • PlayMetrics runs registration, scheduling and communications, so sign-up, updates and your team calendar are all in one place.

Coach a team

No experience is necessary and the club supplies the resources to help you and your team thrive. Volunteer coaches are what make recreational work.
